Priorities
When I ran for County Commissioner I mistakenly thought I knew more about local government than many of the people who had served in office for quite some time. I was wrong. If you think you have all the answers and don’t keep an open mind you’re most likely an ideologue and someone who won’t accomplish much.
The promise I make to the citizens of District 3B is to do my utmost to represent your views to the Maryland House of Delegates. Of course I have my pet projects, namely improving the transportation network within our counties and being fiscally responsible with your taxes.
In my first year in office (Commissioner) I began to see the devastating effects of illegal immigration. I proposed denying county services to those whose presence in this country could not be legally verified. I also introduced local legislation to make English the official language of Frederick County government. In Annapolis I will continue to raise the voice of the silent majority who do not want to see Maryland continue its sanctuary state policies, including advocating the Real ID.
I’m not a red meat politician. I care more for results than mere rhetoric. If there is a good idea that comes from the other side of the aisle then I will offer my support.
It has been my good fortune to have had the opportunity to serve as Frederick County Commissioner and as State Delegate. These jobs have given me great insight into the issues that affect our lives on a daily basis. I hope you’ll help me stay in Annapolis because I know how the decisions made there affect you here.
